Android phones present a real security concern for me

Android SecurityFor me cell phone security has concerned me more and more as devices get more capable. This was one of the reasons that I have really enjoyed the Apple iPhone and have now had two of these phones, the first being a 3G and the second a 3Gs.

However if you carefully read this articleyou will understand the fundamental difference between Andriod and Apple applications. The fact that Android apps can be downloaded from 3rd party sources makes the above scenario even more precarious.

I have a suspicion that once the critical mass of these phones hit the streets we are going to see another field day for the security companies with all kinds of anti-Malware and anti-Spyware installed on the Android phones.

For now I will remain safely within the confines of the iPhone walled security estate, rather than venture into the downtown red light district of the 3rd party Android market.
